This is a very special honor for the Dodge Park and Oasis family. For nearly 60 years, Dodge Park Rest Home has served Worcester seniors and their families, and we are grateful to be recognized as part of the city’s first class of Legacy Businesses.
What Is a Worcester Legacy Business?
A Worcester Legacy Business is a long-standing, locally owned small business that has become part of the city’s history, character, and community life.
The City of Worcester launched the Legacy Business Program to recognize businesses that have contributed to Worcester’s cultural, economic, and social identity. To be eligible, businesses must have been operating for at least 10 years, be physically located and actively operating in Worcester, be locally owned, have fewer than 250 employees, and demonstrate community and cultural significance.
In other words, a Legacy Business is not recognized for longevity alone. These businesses are selected because they have stayed rooted in Worcester, served local residents, provided jobs and services, and helped define the city’s neighborhoods.
For Dodge Park Rest Home, this recognition is especially meaningful. Since 1967, Dodge Park has served Worcester seniors and their families with professional, ethical, and high-quality care. To be named among Worcester’s first Legacy Businesses is an honor that reflects not only our years of service, but our continued commitment to the people and families who make this city so special.
Recognized Among Worcester’s First Legacy Business Class
The City of Worcester announced its first annual Legacy Business program on June 18, 2026, selecting 24 businesses from across the city. Dodge Park LLC dba Dodge Park Rest Home was named among this special inaugural class.
The City received 309 nominations for 62 eligible businesses. Nominations were scored in partnership with the Museum of Worcester, Preservation Worcester, and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. According to the City, the 24 selected businesses have been in operation in Worcester for an average of 70 years.
